Your serial killer has no depth. Your pet with a tragic history is poorly-designed. Your sparkledog is an eyesore. Your sexy, seductive assassin is terrible. Your hyper fun-loving character who has a secret evil side is boring. Your bipolar/schizophrenic/[insert “cool” mental disease here] character is not only offensive, but stupid.

Confessions like this I can’t decide if I’m for or against.  Yes, for some people I agree, but I know people could say that about my OC’s too.  And while I don’t write their stories with much depth (or the severity of just how sick Nermph is) that’s because these people are or have been parts of myself, and I’m only willing to say so much about them y’know? I don’t have fully set outfits or looks for my OC’s because I love seeing how artists  portray them, instead of having a bunch of carbon copy art.

tl;dr sometimes lack of depth is intentional, and a mental health disorder is not mentioned because it’s “cool”
